ECE Students participate in IEEE Extreme Programming Contest

More than 3000 teams competed over the world. The United States IEEE Region 4 consists of parts of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin (see Region 4)

Team Hackslash (consisting of Zhi Huang, and Saurabh Kumar and Veronica  D'Agosta) scored 568.94 and were ranked 2nd in Region 4; 32nd in the US; and 449th in the World

Team Singleton (consisting of Mahmood Hosseini, Alvaro Esperanca) scored 482.67 and were ranked 4th in Region 4; 37th in the US; and 545th in the World


FACULTY POSITION

Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering

The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, Indiana University–Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) invites applications for a  tenure-track Assistant Professor Computer Engineering faculty position in the Electrical & Computer Engineering department with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2018 or possibly earlier. Successful candidate should expect to teach undergraduate and graduate computer engineering courses (software and hardware), supervise graduate students and conduct externally funded research. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or related area.  We are particularly interested in applicants whose research focuses in one of the following areas: medical IoT devices (mIoT) and wearable sensors, machine learning, big data and artificial intelligence but we are open to other computer engineering research areas.

The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI has seven academic departments with an extensive undergraduate and graduate degree portfolio, including numerous CAC, EAC, and ETAC of ABET accredited B.S programs. The School has over 3,500 students, including approximately 500 graduate students pursuing either M.S. or Ph.D. programs. More information about the Department is available at www.engr.iupui.edu/ece

MSECE Student Presents

Setu Shah presenting a water demand forecasting model that he developed at Citizens Energy. This model is able to accurately predict water demand trends for the city of Indianapolis and has been tested on data from the last five years. The project is part of the PERL initiative established by Citizens Energy to foster industry-academic collaboration.

New On-site PhD program

Indiana Commision on Higher Education has approved the ECE department to offer the Purdue University PhD degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering. The PhD Program will Start In January 2018.

Dr. Euzeli dos Santos, Assistant Professor
