The Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Mission

"To provide quality education, scholarship, and service in electrical and computer engineering technology to better serve the community of central Indiana and its citizens."

Program Goals

  • To assure that our students participate in educational experiences in the areas of electrical and computer engineering technology and their adjunct studies that fully prepares them for quality careers in industry and commercial enterprises. Our program shall prepare them for engineering technology careers as BS graduates.
  • To enhance and advance the capability of the ECET faculty in their fields of expertise, such as electronics, microprocessors, electronics manufacturing, digital circuits, software development, power, communications, and controls.

Program Objectives

  • To assure that our programs and courses are current and appropriate as determined by regular review by the faculty and the industrial advisory board.
  • To assure that our programs continue to meet ABET requirements.
  • To assure that our graduates are well trained with the outcome that they receive competitive career opportunities.
  • To assure that our graduates can identify, formulate, and solve electrical and computer engineering technology problems and design tasks.
  • To assure that our graduates can perform engineering technology design projects.
  • To assure that our graduates can work in project teams.
  • To assure that our graduates can present technical material orally and in writing.
  • To enhance learning by providing a learning environment in the lecture and laboratory, by providing available hours for counseling by a team consisting of the instructor, other faculty, staff, student mentors, laboratory assistants, and tutors.
  • To maintain progressive faculty development programs to assure that faculty members possess expertise in current technology with the outcome that they have experiences worthy of sharing with the technical community and that they are qualified for promotion and tenure.
