The Indiana Summer Transportation Institute (ISTI) is a program sponsored by IUPUI, with support from the Federal Highway Administration and Indiana Department of Transportation.
This 5-day enrichment program is designed to create awareness and stimulate interest in Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) secondary school students of the opportunities that exist in the transportation industries. Since 1993, several colleges across the country have hosted ISTI. This is the first-year that IUPUI will host the program.
Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 12, 2009
This workshop is for high school students in grades 9, 10 and 11 at the time of school semester application.
This program will expose students to new frontiers and adventures in transportation such as highway design, modes of transportation, laws, regulations, safety, environmentalism, and career preparation / opportunities. In addition, students will learn the basics of completing the college applications process including applying for financial assistance.
