Cristina Grimany Rivera selected for IUPUI’s Top 100 Students for 2013!
Cristina is completing her junior year in the Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision program and is working towards a career as a mentor leader in the HR field. For the past two years, Cristina has supported student services in Engineering and Technology as a Career Services Administrative Assistant. In this role she has developed strong verbal and written communication skills; assisted with collection of institutional data, and become a liaison for corresponding with prospective students utilizing her native Spanish skills. In many respects, she has become one of the faces most recognized in our school.
Cristina’s service to the school and campus extends beyond her position in E & T Students Services. She is the President-elect to the ET Student Council. Since 2010, she has been a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers serving in roles as both Treasurer and Outreach Coordinator. She is a member and event planner for the ET Society of Human Resource Management student chapter 5404. In 2012, she was recognized as Outstanding Student Worker of the Year and received the D.J. Angus Scientech Educational Foundation Award. She is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and has a smile that brightens every classroom!
From the front desk of ET 101 to her summers working at home in Puerto Rico, to the classroom, to serving as the co-director of the summer POWER Camp, helping young women across the state prepare for careers in engineering and leadership roles; Cristina personifies what an individual can accomplish when they find their place at IUPUI!
